International Verification Services was engaged by Toby Cadman to conduct voice analysis and verification services for his role as a member of the defense counsel team at the Bangladesh War Crimes Tribunal.

 

 

The analysis was conducted on video and audio tapes of a subject identified as Shamsul Hg Nannu (“Nannu”). We submit this report to be presented as expert testimony evidence before the tribunal. We are prepared to provide testimony and answer questions from prosecutors and investigators operating for the Tribunal.

 

Executive Summary:

• We found to a 99.9% degree of accuracy that Nannu is the voice on all of the tapes including the undercover video, the television interview, the television news video touring purported crime scenes as well as a number of videos from his press conference. Despite his denial at that press conference that his voice was not on the other tapes, we find the voices are 99.9 % match with the known sample.

• We conducted voice stress analysis on six audio/video tapes from the final press conference and found that Nannu was being untruthful when he claimed that another person made the statements claiming his testimony was coerced. This conclusion is to a certainty of between 90 and 98%.

• The analysis of the so-called Bangladesh War Crimes Trial Exposed Audio Transcript found:

  • Nannu was being truthful when he said Sheikh Hasina instructed him to testify and promised to “reward” him.

  • Nannu was being truthful when he said he was offered a 140 million taka loan from ADB in exchange for his testimony.

• Nannu was being truthful when he said charges against Mawlana Nizami, were fabricated by government investigators.

• Nannu was being truthful when he said investigators fabricated statements to justify arrests of Ishak Moulana and Sobhan Moulana.

• Nannu gave conflicting statements regarding specifics of who threatened him, what they instructed him to say. In addition he was found to be untruthful regarding dates of meetings with investigators.

 

The above findings related to truthfulness and voice stress readings are established to scientific certainty of 90% or greater.
